KUNDALINI
'Kundalini' is a Sanskrit term from ancient India. It is the energy that lies coiled at the base of the spine. It awakens the awareness that exists in all of us and is the source of the life force. Kundalini energy flows through all of the chakras. The two chakras that are closely associated with Kundalini include the crown chakra (Sahasrara) and the root chakra (Muladhara). Naturally, energy flows through these chakras. This energy can be visualized as a female snake. This spiritual movement has been acknowledged in some Native American teachings, Tantric Buddhism, and Taoism.
A Kundalini Awakening causes one to transform mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The purpose of this awakening is to surrender the ego-self
to the Divine. It is also self-realization and the journey back to Source. Awakening the Kundalini is a powerful spiritual experience. It opens the heart and mind to major shifts in perspective. It is a total transformation, and it includes many unique sensations. Some of these sensations are shaking, movement, vibrating, visions, and many more feelings. Once Kundalini awakens, it purifies the body, mind, and spirit.
Practices that can awaken your Kundalini:

Kundalini Meditation - One who practices Kundalini meditation may experience increased mindfulness, a greater purpose, and improved communication with self and others. When doing a Kundalini meditation, one should dress comfortably, focus on their breath, use mantras, and add mudras. A Kundalini meditation is meant to move energy through the body.

Kundalini Yoga - Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that is associated with chanting, singing, and many breathing exercises. This form of yoga builds strength, and its purpose is to activate your Kundalini energy. It is a combination of breath, movement, and sound. It is an intense practice and can become dangerous if not handled properly.

Breathwork - Working with the breath can trigger a Kundalini Awakening. Pranayama exercises can help awaken Kundalini. There are many different exercises that can balance your energy. Breath of Fire is another breathing exercise, and it is commonly used in Kundalini yoga. Breath of Fire involves passive inhales and active exhales that are quick and very powerful. Focusing on consciously moving your breath all the way up and down your spine can allow life force energy to pass through you.

When one's Kundalini awakens, they may feel blissful and experience feelings of and a sense of interconnectedness to all beings. This awakening may also lead to an expansion of consciousness.
